Tales | Thursday

Judy, an elderly neighbor, stands at the railing beyond the elevator hallway, she stands there often, lurking and feeding her curious mind as, on the way to work, our heroine notices Judy and says, “good morning Judy.”

Her greeting and apparent stealth appearance at Judy’s side scared this poor old woman who mumbled, “oh, oh,” as she quickly takes a breath, ” good morning,” her face twisted in terror. She quickly shuffled back to her apartment after with a door slam following as the elevator doors, in front of which our heroine was standing, slid open.

WomanSoon as I saw her I wondered about her story. Her imprisonment seemed to have frozen her in a dance, did she want to become frozen? Was she punished? Was she rewarded? Are the conceptions twisted to suit my beliefs? Magical thinking does make life interesting however and nature’s randomness is awe inspiring, indeed dancing woman.
